Candidate Requirements

Town wide offices are required to collect 50 signatures from registered voters of the Town of Falmouth. It is recommended to obtain more than 50 in case the registered voter is not qualified to sign nomination papers.

In compliance with the 2010 Federal Census, voting precinct boundaries in Precinct 1, 2, 6, 8, and 9 have redrawn and all Town Meeting Members in those precincts must be re-elected.

The top 9 will receive a three year term, the next 9 will receive a two year term, and the next 9 will receive a one year term.

Present Town Members do not need to take out nomination papers, but must return signed notice of intent to run, mailed to them by the Town Clerk

Town Meeting Members are required to collect 10 signatures from registered voters in the Precinct they are registered to vote. It is recommended to obtain more than 10 in case the registered voter is not a member of your precinct.

The order in which names of candidates, including incumbents, appear on the ballot will be determined by a public drawing on April 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Town Clerk's Office.
